Join a Sports team or other group in school, Debate Club, or some other group- or activity. Many people would enjoy knowing you and all you can tell about China. Many years ago when I was in School we had one Chinese boy- he seem to have no friends, but yet everyone liked him, as he was so polite and well mannered, yet he seemed to keep his distance from us. Don't be afraid to talk with people, as you talk with many some will become your friend.

Congratulations! You have been here only 9 months and you have a few friends. To make more friends simply say hello more often, Americans are less reserved when meeting new people. If you are looking for more Chinese friends since you miss home, there are plenty of Chinese American social groups. Check your local phone book or the city you live may have a Web site.

Well, obviously you live in the wrong area, as there are lots of Chineese in this Country...

And, you are not trying "hard enough" to make friends! Friends are easy to come by, all you have to do, is "let them in"! Invite people to get to know you.. (dont be standoffish, or they will think your "stuck up" or "too good for them" and you will never make friends... Get over being "reserved", this is America! We are outgoing, and totally borish at times, but, we are well meaning people who love to have a good time! (Just dont get with a "wild crowd", and get into trouble).

I will assume that the family your staying with, are watching over you very closely, because your "are" under thier care and they are responsible for you and dont want anything to happen to you, or they may be liable...

As a Sudent, you need to "broaden your base". The family your living with, (I will assume your a Foriegn Exchange Student), and you should seek out a Church to join!
They are the most "uplifting" people I have ever met!

Clubs, sports, can all take up your time...Then, there are "boys"...(But, if you were my daughter, I wouldnt let you date, until you were 16 --->At the very least :)...

Spend some time at the Library, and get into some good books, and expand your mind. Go to Football games, baseball games and get to "know" American Culture...(Great time to explore, since you are here :).

Its Summer time.. Break out your swim suit and go for a dip in the pool or the lake or creek!

Ask the family your living with, what "they" do for fun, before you came here...(A lot of times, people change thier ways, when they have a house guest. Get them to loosen up and act like your family and see what they start to do 'normally').

I hope you have a great time in this Country, and get on Chat rooms, (beware of Predators), and see if you can hook up with a few of your Countrymen/women online...

I wish you well..

Jesse

Join a club at school, or church. Try myspace for making new friends.

If you tell us where you are at, maybe we can provide better answers for you.
