Take lessons. Having somebody there will be reassuring and you will also learn how to swim correctly and safely.

I'm not sure if you have access to a swimming pool, or if you go to a beach or a lake, but in any case, I can tell you about the way I learned to swim.

When I was young, I went to the shallow end of a pool and learned to dog-paddle. If you've ever seen a dog in water, this is the best technique for beginners.

Basically, you move your arms as though they are peddling a bicycle and then wiggle your feet. Doing this with a calm, fluid motion will keep you afloat. Try this in a shallow body of water until you get confident enough to try it in deeper water.

After that, you're good to go! The next lesson for you will be proper techniques for swimming. The most important part is to confront your fear with a gameplan :).

Spray bottes are mean (I use shock and prong collars but would never use a spray bottle). They are very likely to cause an aggression response and cause distrust in the handler. They can also cause a fear of water so I hope your dog never needs a bath or you never want him to swim. Puppies bite for a variety of reasons. Mainly teething and that this is how they play with their siblings. They do need to learn appropriate play. Some of it will go away with age. Start teaching your dog the leave it command. and make sure it gets PLENTY of exercise. An exhausted dog doesn't bite.

Jump in on the deep side of the pool and try to get out again. If you do get out, then you can swim, but if you can't, the I hope that there is a life guard around to get you out. Get an instructor, someone that can help you. You better do something about it before you sit in the middle of the ocean.

well first you should get some good endurance because it will probably decrease your fear of pools and then always remember this one thing that i told my neighbor when she was afraid of pools..if harry potter came by and used his wand to get rid of all the water in the pool, what would happen? well, you would sink so acually, the water keeps you up (its just something to show that movies are false and that you really can't drown in a calm pool) and maybe you can find either a good friend you trust or a swimming instructor to teach you slowly.

1. see the restroom? go in there and turn on the tap. wash you hands. if you can do that proceed to step 2.

2. alright, now that you passed your first test, you can go right ahead and fill your bathtub with water. brace yourself... and step in. scream all you want--no embrassment. it's your home, no one will hear you. done that? go to step 3.

3. Congratulations you've passed the first two tests! Now you are ready to go out and face the world. Show them you're brave! Go right ahead and step into the shallow pools. Don't mind the kiddos... shut your ears, tell yourself they're not laughing... no no of course not! Done that? now go to the last step.

4. CANNONBALL into the deepest pool you find!!! if you drown, well, too bad, you were not meant for swimming. if you survived, great, now you've overcome your fear of water!

take some lessons or go with a friend you really trust and you'll see, after a few try's you'll feel more comfortable, in the end you'll feel confident enough to try and really swim
