I believe that democracy was born in the interest of the majority. This caused less internal friction and a more peaceful society. Recent history has shown us again, i.e. Bush & Middle East, how the President of the US has an immediate influence on world peace in other global regions. Perception is that the action of the president doesn’t always represent the US voters (reason for the quick succession of presidents?).
In the interest of world peace and the advancement of democratic systems, I suggest that a certain percentage of the votes for the US presidency should include the global international community. As in ancient Greece, the mechanics of democracy might result in a more peaceful global community. I think this is the real dream of all US citizens, but the US government prefer things volatile, for it is good for business, good for politics and makes them feel needed.

Well, people in Alabama don't have any say over the governor of New York. As long as certain issues are local only, then the representatives making the decisions should be chosen only by the locals. But if a certain decision affects other states or other nations, then the people in those areas should also have a say in those decisions, in proportion to how much effect it has on them.

Ha. Wow. How about all the illegal immigrants are granted the right to vote for OUR president. How about the terrorists get to choose? That way they could elect Howard Dean or some other pushover so that they can finally get away with what they want to do. Killing innocents. I can't wait for this system to be implemented!
