Read my last question to fully understand... Okay, say you move to a new state, and after living there several weeks(and you have small children... say girls) and you find out from the paper where the pedophiles live... and find out one lives two doors down.... and when you look it up find out he was guilty of molesting a little girl..... And then you find out EVERYONE(schools,etc..) knew and noone told you. Isn't there some kind of moral and ethical behavior? I mean, what is this world coming to?

Where did you move to Mayberry, RFD? It sounds like the locals just didn't want to acknowledge that they have this "problem", or they were just really eager to sell/rent you the house you're living in because none of them wanted to live there. I would talk to a LAWYER, quick, to find out what your legal choices are. Check with Legal Aid for your area, your children should not be put at such a risk!

Maybe everyone else assumed you knew about it too. Not all that long ago this stuff was not even public information, so at least you should be glad to know the situation, even if it is a bit after the fact. Now you can take action accordingly and warn your childrento beware.

The teachers' unions may prohibit disseminating that information for legal reasons. Who knows. All you should know is where to look for public records on sex offenders in your state or municipality.

Suppose you open a shop and then you discover that it's next door to two women who are persistent, regular shoplifters?
