Hello,

actually Lamborghinis exist becuase of Ferrari :D

Ferrucio Lamborghini, the founder of the marque, was a tractor builder. He had a Ferrari, but he was not satisfied with some things with the car (the story says the Ferrucio didn't like the hard shifting). Once (in 1963) he took his Ferrari to Maranello for regular examination, he met with Enzo Ferrari and tried to make some suggestions for making it better. Enzo said that a tractor builder doesn't have a right to criticise a Ferrari. Lamboghini replied, that he will build a sportscar that will shift right.

He did so, in 1964 he came up with the 350 GT. :D

I can't say EVERYTHING strongly enough.

Lamborghini got his start with Enzo Ferrari, but that's where the commonality ends.

Both cars have quality engines, but every exotic car mechanic I've talked to says that next to Ferrari, Lamborghini build quality just sucks.

Lamborghini tends toward using more 10- and 12-cylinder production engines than Ferrari; Ferrari prefers 8- or 12-cylinder engines because of their involvement with Formula racing. Lamborghini, on the other hand, has no notoriety in racing...thus the reason their cars don't hold value as well as Ferraris do.

To the idiot who posted before me, Ferrari and Lamborghini are BOTH built with passion. Lamborghinis are the cars built to show off--as evidenced by their outlandish coachwork.

Oh, did I mention that Ferrari is still Italian-owned, and Lamborghini is owned by VW?

well a 2006 lamborghini murcielago LP640 has 640 horsepower and a 2005 ferrari 575M superamerica has 540 hp and also has a F1 style. thats one difference but it depends on which model of lamborghini and ferrarri you are comparing.
