I'm thinking that elastic bands are a bit flimsy, even for a Guinea pig. I recommend getting an actual Bungee cord, as they have more tensile strength. You can buy them at any hardware store, but if you go thru Bungee on line, you can probably get a custom length, as well as a tiny harness to strap the little guy in.

Oh- & don't forget a helmet. I work in Traumatic Brain Injury research, and I can tell you that head injuries are no joke!

I've never heard of a guinea pig jumping up stairs, they are curious little creatures though, and they're jumping sometimes accompanied by a little squeak is called 'popcorning' and they do it when they are excited but i've never heard of it used as a means of travel. I would however suggest that you have him play somewhere else because guineas pigs cannot see far away (i think that's being near-sighted i can never remember) so if he decides to go down the steps he could misjudge the distance and get seriously injured but it is awesome that he is that active, to many guinea pigs die from obesity due to inactivity, a ball might be a safer mode of transportation for him (as long as he's not at the top of the stairs) it will preventing him from climbing in nooks and crannies like guinea pigs like to . good luck

It depends on the mass of the Guinea pig and the elasticity and tensile strength of the elastic bands.

You should use elastic bands which, at or before their full extension, will produce an upward force significant enough to at least counter the velocity of your Guinea pig at that point. If your elastic bands exert a force significant enough to accelerate the Guinea pig upwards at speed, you should make sure you have vertical room for the Guinea pig to enjoy free motion. Importantly, your elastic bands should have a full extension that is shorter than the available space between your initial point of release and the ground, and be able to accomodate the force produced by your Guinea pig under acceleration.

Basic application of Newtonian and other mechanical laws will let you perform the calculations yourself once you have measured the force exerted by your elastic bands and the mass of your Guinea pig.

You need mental help. You don't just throw animals around like toys you psychopath. You seen the preview for the Ant Bully? I hope a pack of Guinea pigs ties elastic to you when you're sleeping and you wake up flying over the stairs.

Depends on the size of the elastic bands and the weight of the Guinea Pig!!

I would suggest that YOU bungee jump off the highest building you can find. USING the SAME rubber bands you use on the Guinea pig. THIS will tell you EXACTLY how many you need.

That idea...well...isn't very good. It is dangerous to the guinea pig. Just think, one mistake, and you'll have one less guinea pig. Why don't you think of something fun for the both of you to do. Sit him on your lap and watch a movie. Anything that doesn't involve a possible injury or death to the guinea pig.

Rather than elastic bands, you'll be better with shirring elastic (you can buy it from any good haberdashers). Don't forget you'll need less length than the drop, or else your guinea pig will bump his head.

5 thick strong ones to tie your testicles to the railings before you jump off. If the guinea pig goes so do you.
