Because trying to explain in finite terms something as inexplicable as the human existence would transcend human boundaries and would approximate godliness. Most religions and their churches regard God as the only omnipotent being. Therefore, humans could never attain a comprehensive and all-encompassing explanation of human life; any attempt for such an explanation would ensue from a divine revelation, a mystery in itself! Anyone who would profess to have reached this level of abstract knowledge could be considered blasphemous by the Church. But even secular humanists accept the fact that even though scientists may know the inner workings of a woman's pregnancy to the smallest detail, the miracle of why one is born still remains a mystery.

Organized Religion has no answers... just a fairly primitive idea that there is a man/woman in the sky who will be mad at you if you decide to make something of yourself..... To me it is just an unwillingness to think, and/or take responsibility. If you are unable to do either does it truly come as a surprise that you would find everything to be a mystery?!

Well I'm a Christian, and I see no mystery in it at all. We're put here as human beings, made in God's image, but with our own free will to choose how to live. One idea is the idea of stewardship, which claims that God put us here to take care of his earth and his creations. Whether we're doing a good job is another question :P.

I believe that because men have headed most of the religious orders ..... and they are not capable of bringing life into the world as women do ....they consider it a mystery.

From your question, I am left to assume that it is not a mystery to you. So then am I also to conclude that you have no belief in any sort of afterlife? Or perhaps you understand the origins of life on earth as well as the real creators of the human race? Do you know something that we don't? If so, please tell us whats really going on here,

They do? Gee, if that's the case, maybe the bible did not provide a clear answer?

If the bible did provide a clear answer but it remain a mystery to you, then you have not been taking religious classes seriously.
