they can be very stylish if done properly, but you have to be sure you want it. I got one after wanting it for about two years, that way i was sure.

I have 3 tattoos, a small dolphin on my left ankle, tigger on my right, and a small tribal tattoo on the bottom of my back.
I would never get the name of the person i love tattooed on me cos that just tempting fate..although you can get them removed by laser it hurts a lot more than getting it done in the first place.

So if your going to get a tattoo think about where you want it done...ankles can be covered up....and not many people notice them unless you point them out....

a tattoo is for life (unless you have it laser-ed off, but that does leave a scar) so think about where it looks good now and if its still going to look ok when your old.

I love my tattoo's they are apart of me, like having a piece of art on your body, just make sure that you check out the tattoo place before you get it done...no licence no tattoo!!!

They should use a new sterile needle every time they do a new tattoo, and they should wear gloves!

My friend says its like giving birth, you experience a bit of pain for a while but then afterwards your left with something wonderful that you can treasure for the rest of your life!!

I have two beautiful tattoos - one on the inside of my ankle and the other on the outside of my calf. The are fabulous to look at and I never get tired of looking at them. They were done by a very talented artist who enjoyed doing the work and that really shows.

The great thing about them is that they really seem to suit where they are placed. When I walk the one on my ankle looks as though its tapping its feet and the one on my calf looks like its wiggling its bottom.

I waited until I was in my mid 30s before getting my first and within the year had another added. I think that what ever you have done has to be something you'll never get bored with seeing.

I'm not a fan and I don't think they look attractive. Some of the artwork is amazing, but I would only like to appreciate it on paper, not on skin. The sad thing now, in my opinion, is that young people get them done thinking they are being so cool and rebellious, but so many people have them that they aren't special at all, just another fashion statement - one that is very difficult to get rid of if you change your tastes later in life. If you really want to dabble in body art then go for the henna ones.

Just my individual opinion - no offence meant to those who have tattoos.

:o)

I think they can look really good if done tastefully and if you choose something you really like.

I have two. A black butterfly on my ankle and a black rose on my lower back. I've had them for 5 years and still love them. I thought about it for a couple of months before I had them done and spent a long time choosing my designs.

I think too many tattoos look tacky and grungy. And I think colours look terrible because they always fade really badly. I think tattoos of cartoon characters etc look really tacky but tasteful patterns and designs look good.

Tattoo's are very commonplace now and are no longer regarded as different, cool, unique or whatever other reasons people have them done for.
Tattoos on women spoil their look and this certainly applies as they age.
Not for me. Not keen on them on men either.

I don't mind what other people do to their own bodies. It doesn't upset me to see someone covered in tattoos, I mean.

I have a small tattoo and don't regret it. I don't think I'll have any more done though.

i have 4..1 on each shoulder, 1 in between shoulders and a small one on my boob (thats the only one i dont like now)..all in descrete places so they can be hidden if i want them to be. i was 38 when i had my 1st one. i wouldnt have one on my arms or legs as i dont like seeing them there on 'older women' so for me that is a no-no. had thort about one by my navel but i dont have a very sexy tummy now and i dont think that would look very nice!

Very unoriginal. It's a fad. How are you going to hide them in an evening gown. Ask any man. Tatoos=Tramp

I had one done when I was 18 on my hip which I like, I do think they look best on women if they are small and discreet. Each to their own though.
