not at all....
I would be pleased that the school my child attends is not narrow minded and does not discriminate against people on the basis of their sexuality.

Would you mind if a straight man is your 10-yr-old daughter's teacher for the next year? He might "lure" her. It happens ... here and there, now and then.

Most gay men are not interested in little boys, any more than most adult males are interested in little girls.

I think parents out to be more worried about the much more likely thing -- that their kid's going to get a crappy education.

In the end, it's the school officials that you elected who hire people that don't do these things. Sometimes they make mistakes. Sometimes the people they hire haven't done anything before. There's no way to know for sure.

There's no such thing as life without risk. If you call up the school's principal, I'm sure they can tell you more about this concern.

I would tolerate it but I have daughters. I also watch over them diligently and am not naive A gay teacher does not mean a predator, I would be angry if he inflected his propaganda on them. I think if we continue to label this as deviant we give the truly deviant a reprieve and give them a security zone. If we label poorly and with bias we grant the married boyscout leader or the holy man of the cloth a wider zone of trust then they deserve and don't expect them to earn it. Why can't we spend more time as a nation fighting for harsher more unilateral laws regarding convicted sex offenders and less time blaming homosexuals for the demise of the nation ?

T.J.S the mere fact you'd even imply something like that regarding your child tells me you've got issues that stem well beyond a gay teacher.

What is wrong with that? I think the influence of being gay is not because your teacher is a gay! There is no such connection because the gay teacher will teach you child to be educated and not to be hairdresser or fashion designer or beautician! Unless the teacher has a bad reputation of being pedophile, drop you child from that school!Anyway I understand you for being very protective with your boy because of the stereotype dignity of some gay teachers to their student being molester! You can investigate if you want to assure your child's security with that teacher!Good luck!

just because he is gay does not make him a pedophile. if he is a good teacher, i would not have a problem with him. does he know that he is teaching your son, and that your a straight man or not, does he bother to ask? no, why, because it doesn't matter. he is teaching academics, he is not teaching your child to be gay. i would think of him as i think of any other teacher. because we all have our quirks. some people drink too much but are still good teachers, the woman down the hall may prefer women, but you don't know about it because she doesn't speak about it. and if you did know about it would you be as worried as you are about a man's preference, i doubt it. yes i think you have a right to worry about your child, but not at the expense of good people. and that is what you need to find out - is he a good teacher. the rest doesn't matter.

No I would not mind, gay men don"t relate sexually to
children, not at all, however pedophiles do relate
sexually to children, pedophiles as a rule have been
abused as children, they therefor have an arrested
development of the mind.

I wouldn't mind for as long as he teaches my son well but I do mind if he teaches being gay and attempts harassing my son. I just hope my son will learn a lot from him as gay teachers are strict and intellectual.
