This is caused by anxiety

anxiety triggers your 'fight or flight' reaction

'fight or flight' is essentially your body misinterpreting the immediate potential for danger, which can be caused by:

caffeine

simply being nervous or anxious

anger

excitement

If you'd like to control your sweating, there are several procedures:

1. antiperspirant (i'm assuming you've tried this. if you're using deodorant, make sure that it is also an antiperspirant (as deodorant simply masks odors; it does not stop sweating)

2. natural relaxants - st johns wart, kava kava

3. high strength antiperspirants (often times only available with a prescription, particularly in the United States.

- this is usually the most effective

- look for the active ingredient aluminum chloride (very potent, essentially clogs pores ssafely for a period of up to 18 hours)

- if you do obtain aluminum chloride antiperspirant, it is ESSENTIAL that you read the directions carefully - applying to moist armpit regions can result in EXTREME burning or a development of a rash. When used properly, this is almost always an effective solution to sweating

4. if nothing else works, you may want to consider a surgical procedure in which the glands in the desired location are literally 'snipped' - this should offer a permanent solution, HOWEVER some people report that sweat escapes in excess from OTHER locations upon completion of the procedure -- so discuss this option thoroughly with a physician prior to consideration

good luck

This happened to me a while back.............I also had a little knot in my arm pit............Dr. checked me out, and here I had a hair that grew out normally then it circled back into my underarm...Apparently, I kept missing it every time I shaved...He cut the hair pulled it out, and then I had to apply hot compresses with a rag 2 times a day and squeeze out the puss.I did this for a few weeks.
The B O was bad......DEGREE was the only deodorant that kept the odor down!
