WHOO WHOO IVE GOT IT - oh boy ive spent like the last half an hour or so trying to find it , i remembered the movie but not the name jees ive never been so obsessed with one answer like i have been with your one- Patrick (1978)- After the shocking bathtub death of his mother and her lover, the sinister Patrick lays comatose in a small private hospital, his only action being his involuntary spitting. When a pretty young nurse, just separated from her husband, begins work at the hospital, she senses that Patrick is communicating with her, and he seems to be using his psychic powers to manipulate events in her life

I love Metallica, especially the song 'One'. When I first saw the video, is when I came across the incredible story you are mentioning.

The video is almost entirely in black & white, and features the band performing the song in a warehouse. It features dialogue and several scenes from the movie Johnny Got His Gun, written and directed by Dalton Trumbo. Timothy Bottoms can be seen starring as Joe Bonham, the main character in the novel. Bonham is confined to a hospital and is sustained via a tube after suffering catastrophic injuries from a mortar shell (although a landmine is mentioned as the cause of injury in the song lyrics) during the first World War. Although he survived, the explosion caused incredible loss of limbs, including both his arms and legs, along with most of his face including his eyes, nose, ears leaving him blind, deaf, mute and almost completely immobile. The movie was nominated for a Golden Globe, but was not the original inspiration for Hetfield's lyrics. It was only after the song had been recorded that they learned about the similarities between the stories of their song and Trumbo's movie.

Thus Metallica bought the rights to Johnny Got His Gun so they would be able to use it exclusively for the video for "One".

It's either Patrick or more probably 'The Medusa Touch' with Richard Burton where he writes 'Windscale' at the end of the movie.

The movie is called "Patrick". I'm fairly sure there's a sequel to it as well. Not sure of stars etc, but it's a top movie. Very dated, but still a good watch.

I'll have this on my mind all day now, thanks a lot. Did it have Anthony Andrews or that fellow out of Cabaret in it, someone similar looking anyway, she gave him 'pleasure' is that the one, or am I barking up the wrong tree.
