i keep getting an error message that says uncorrectable datea error or media......

ur os is corrupt reinstall xp if u dont care about whats on hard drive reformat if u do care just dont reformat it will give u a caution mess like "multiple operating systems can cause blah blah blah just hit ok and install anyway

Just reload OS to get rid of dis problem at the earliest.
if u get this message for few days then its ok but if u r getting this message from the finishing of installation of OS then plz use a fresh CD.

Reformat unless you want what's on the HDD.
Fix your Master Boot Records with some software.
