Two things:
1. Depends on your state: some states have what is called an 'at will' policy which means you can be fired for any reason
2. More than likely the company had a call abandonment policy where you were not allowed to hang up on a customer for any reason whatsoever
Now with that said, a friend of mine worked for a call center and got fired for hanging up on a customer who called her a ****. She went to the employment security commssions and filed for unemployment. They denied it the first time and she filled out the appeal form then it was appoved.
I have heard the deny all first cases but if you appeal you get it.
GOOD LUCK I HOPE YOU WIN!!!!
Call centers are nothing but modern day slave camps.
PS Do not bother with Human Resources. THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND ONCE FIRED. Go to your unemployment office.. seriously.

Contact human resources within the company to find out what "grounds" for firing are. Contact the union if there is one for the same information. If you feel that you have been treated unfairly, contact the local department of labor - see if they can help you.
If you are "disabled" = unable to work due to the dialysis, file for social security immediately....

Yes. You must find a human right group for workers or a union that will represent you. I would call a human rights group in your town. Or contact your senator's office and explain the situation. Don't give up. Also go to legal aid or look up a lawyer "pro bono".

If you can't deal with too much stress then you shouldn't be working in a call center.. I can't think of a more stressful place. .besides a job where there's a risk of dying.

I wouldn't stand for it. If you have evidence of these customers being abusive towards you hten you haave a good case. if not, i would check out the company policies for firing people and demand to speak with somebody in a better position.

See your union or a solicitor.
My wife works in a call centre in England for catalogues on sales and credit and if she is given abuse she cuts them off straight away and takes no crap. Her management defends her.

Work as an HR Recruiter. The job has less pressure and you can earn quite a lot.
