After all, every human desires to label life in anyway they see fit. To some, "Life is like a box of chocolates" to others it is harsh and cruel. Though, over all, it is assumed life is a gift. Most cringe at the thought of death, my assumption being based on the fact that it is a very popular phobia. We're so afriad to loose it.
So why then do we try and convince ourselves that life is unfair? Unjust? Cruel? Do we, as human need to blind ourselves of the overall picture in order to function? Or is it something else?

You can't answer an artistic question with a scientific answer. The term cruelty is a human creation. Nature is not cruel, it's just nature.

It's all in perception, and it's profoundly personal. There are life events that people survive daily that would put most of us in a severe state of depression. We're all hard wired to handle pain, suffering and disappointment, it's just that some of us handle it better than others. Greet each day as an adventure, live it to the fullest, and if the adventure ends today have no regrets. Enjoy the ride, don't think about the destination.

Any person who hinks life is really good and a gift and oh so special, is pigheaded, full of themselves, egotistic and probably Christian.

I am not afraid of death, i was born with no importance to the world and i shall die that way, as we all will.

Some people need to take a step back, and look at themselves. Life may be good or bad, but nobody cares about it. Deal with it.

If you have no guilt pangs then life is blissful for you. what is not yours and you have it you have fear of losing like. likewise life is a gift of god then god takes it back from you so people are scared of death for that reason and many more. A true and honest to god person will never fear death cos he knows its an eventuality. its easier to blame others for our own mistakes saying because of you this happened. so they are unjust but they blame life for that. put he blame at someones elses door step. try to take life easily. live for the day dont think about tomorrow, maybe tomorrow may never come for you.

pain and longing stand out in the memory more than happiness, as a product of evolution(those that ignored pains/injuries or desires/hunger would probably be more likely to die)
we need to make a conscious effort(most of us anyway) to be happy
life sucks for those who can't see whats better
