According to Manowar, they are the "Official Kings of Steel" and "Gods of Metal." They are a heavy metal band with lots of gimmicks and marked talent, but as a whole I am not into their music.
I saw Manowar live once (went to see one of their opening bands, RHAPSODY, do yourself a favor and check them out please) and I learned their tagline (not hard to remember): "We ride, we rock, and we f*ck!!!" Oh yeah, and "Manowar Kill!!!" I was in such a state of euphoria after seeing Rhapsody that I actually had a pretty good time watching their set, but in my opinion their music is pretty lame. (At one point, Fabio Leone of Rhapsody and Manowar's vocalist sang Phantom of the Opera... Amazing!!)

It's a lot of things. It's a kind of ship from the days of sail, a kind of jellyfish and a racehorse. Those are usually spelled "Man o' War", though.
When it's spelled Manowar it's a metal band from the 80's. They're the most ridiculous, over the top band ever and they're really funny. They're really good for laughing at and making fun of but they seem to take themselves seriously.
But really, can you take a band seriously when they call themselves "The True Kings of METALLL!!!!" and sing about motorcycles being "steeds of steel"?
