That's like saying when will the world ever see the back of the USA...
Its never gonna happen, not that it should, Israel has a right to be acknowledged for its existence like any other sovereign nation.
It is a piranha swimming in a pool of sharks except its good at defending itself!
I rather feel your question is anti Semitic and thus annoying, when will the world ever see the back of the likes of the Hezbollah or the other Muslim factions constantly discharging hatred across the world!
After all these are the worse kind of people in the world with no regard for life not even there own for nothing or noone matters to them!
They will let there fellow citizens be murdered and innocent civilians say nothing because of fear. So they stay among them just so they cannot be found....it will always be the innocent that will suffer unless these fanatical fools are caught or destroyed...Peace can only be resolved through Diplomacy and if N.Ireland can do it, anything is possible...

Israel, as a soverign country, must be allowed to pursue the war against terrorism as it sees fit within its territorial boundaries.
Any response beyond those boundaries should however be proportionate to the threat.
The world is shocked by the current crisis but should not be fooled by terrorists proclaiming to be a legitimate army hiding behind unarmed civilians.
Rather than seek the destruction of Israel it might be better if the terrorists were to forge their weapons ito ploughshares and strive for peace through reconciliation.

Why Israel? Isn't it just a scapegoat? Recently there have been several conflicts which have had nothing to do with Israel - Bosnia, Croatia, Falklands, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan.

Because Israel started on the blood of another nation. they killed and kicked out the Palestinians and then they established Israel.
