Think of the logic of the market we have in place. Right now, say you pay 3 a gallon. Some fool decides that a whale farting in Newfoundland will impact oil production. So, the price at the pump will rise before the next morning. Keep in mind that the oil you use now was already refined at a lower price months, even years earlier. So the things that impact the price should not be seen untill AFTER the current oil is refined. But instead the expected future price is passed on to consumers now. What a rip....

its time to start writing congress. Thats all the voice we have..

The blurb below is a headline from CNN today....its the second largest profit...ever. And they made the record profit last year. Go to congress.org and say something. In the USA, things change IF the people make it happen.

Exxon Mobil makes more than $10 billion
No. 1 U.S. oil company earns $1,318 a second - topping forecasts - but comes in just shy of a record.

Also you must remember that China and India are coming on line and they are buying cars, air conditioners , and refrigerators , and trucks to move their goods whereas 10 years ago they were not . Do the math backwards . China and India have a combined population of almost 3 billion while we in the USA only have 300 million . In the coming years you will see a gas war break out between countries to secure enough energy for themselves and the price will only escalate .. Furthermore the rest of the world is paying well over $5.00 a gallon for gas but they also have better transporation systems then the USA cause more people use public transportation there than we do . You will probably look back fondly and say I remember when gas was $3.00 a gallon and wonder what happened to the good old days . By the way when I started driving in the early 60s gas was $.149 a gallon and an attendant filled your tank and did the windows too and checked your tires . Remember where you heard it - you have seen nothing as far as the price of a gallon sells for . Sad but true and alot of people living in suburbs and rural areas who have no access to public transportation are really gonna be screwed .

What do you mean "Again?" the oil companies have always gouged prices. they control production and supply so they can set the price where ever they want. i don't understand the people that complain about gas prices yet buy the gas guzzler suv's and trucks and have a lead foot speeding everywhere.
