i have xp pro, i tried all chioces,it does all the divers then the white bar goes across screen then nothing if i try it normal it says boot failure insert boot disk press any key

its probabbly the corrupt file SYSTEM.sys. so try repairing it by pressing r on the welcome screen

Reformat, reinstall XP sorry ;-(. If you had the training you could rebuild auto ex.bat, boot ini, clean up the registry. If this is just your personal machine, bite the bullet and do the reformat, reinstall. If you have a zip drive or Syquest or removable media device, you can save all your .doc's, .jpag's etc p Good luck

definite try getting it in to risk-free mode, via pressing F8 key merely after initiate and then do a device fix. have you ever tried leaving it on the initiate show screen lots longer it must be attempting to place in updates. go away it for 10 minutes and notice if the laptop comes up.

the windows is not installed properly. Try installing it again.
