I just got a new Dell Inspiron e1505. The packing slip says it has Windows XP Pro. I was always laboring under the impression that on start up, it would say Windows XP Professional rather than Windows XP only...but maybe I'm wrong. Is there any way I can be sure I got the Professional? Thanks in advance!

Right click on the My Computer icon and go to Properties. It should tell you right there.

anybody replied properly, yet basically kinda properly. in case you have a favourite laptop with Vista on it, this is totally complicated to circulate decrease back to XP, and not quite truthfully worth the fee or attempt to do it. it may be lots less complicated to purchase a used laptop---even a reconditioned laptop which might make it very almost like new---on line someplace that has XP put in. Vista is a substantial mess, and this is merely an attempt to make you purchase new extras like printers, because of the fact older ones won't artwork with Vista now. otherwise, any laptop you have that's quite worth making use of will take XP.
