Same goes for me, they look good but in actual fact, they are not very good quality.

Most of it is pressed wood, inexpensive, and not made to last. Go look at premium furniture, and look at how solid wood furniture is really made. It ends up being less expensive in the long run. It used to be that all of the best furniture came from North Carolina. Now many of the better brands are made overseas. If you have a store that sells furniture made by the Amish, use that to learn about the finest quality, then shop and compare to buy better quality. Keep in mind that the Amish furniture is made the old fashioned way, one piece at a time, and very, very, expensive. Find a compromise in the middle. Good luck.

Really a disaster.
Before I think IKEA is some furniture that have good looking but in cheap price. However, when I bought a cupboard, the poor quality really make me sick. The screw of the cupboard is unstable. And the top of the cupboard start bending now.

I have good experience with IKEA furniture and bad experience. But I keep in mind that it's cheap because most of it is cheap material. Once I had a seat that broke, I contacted them and they replaced it by a new one. But that one broke also. At the end they send me my money back. If you bought it a month ago you should contact them.

Yes and no.
I have bought stuff there that has lasted for years (shelves and a desk). But, I have also bought stuff there that has only lasted a couple of months (chair and sheets). I think you get what you pay for. If you buy their cheaper product lines they just won't last.
I am considering buying some furniture there because I like the style, but am also concerned about how long it will last.

Yeah, we got a book shelf in two parts, a top and a bottom. My husband put the top together. When he went to put the bottom together the side was missing. Then we called them and since the items were on sale they wouldn't refund they wouldn't refund the top because there wasn't anything wrong with it, and they would only exchange the bottom, but they didn't have any in stock. And when I asked if they could get one in from another store they said that we could call around, but that we would have to go to the other store ourselves and get it. We never go there anymore.

No, not at all, my house is stuffed with IKEA furniture (bed, table, chairs, dressoirs, couch, even plants...) and everything's doing very well.

I think it depends on what it is. Some of it is more durable than other things. I bought my 6 year old a bed, and it's still in one piece which is a good sign to me.
