He says he hurts in one of his balls. It aches. And the pain seems to stem from a spot in his lower left side of his stomach or something like that. I though it might be a strained muscle, but he's thinking "cancer".

Heheheh.. Men are funny creatures. Once you hit a certain age everything is a sign of cancer.. I'm a man so i know about these things. Get him to your local doctor. Hope it works out to be something you can laugh about later

Well to make the two you need to tell some other important things-How old is he-Testicular cancer happens from ages about 18-35. Also what race-Blacks rarely have this disease more common in whites. Also CANCER USUALLY DOESN'T HURT but it can. Do he have a hard mass? Tell him to check after a warm bath or shower! Did he have any tramau in the area-Runnign without stretching or accidently getting hit there???
Lastily(don't freak out)- Has he or you ever had an STD? A disorder called epididmydis(sorry for the spelling) can present like this after a STD infection. Also he could have torsion which is the worst case scenario(even worst that cancer as far as immediate treatment cure rate is concerned) and he could lose on or both testicles. Don't let this freak you out but you should send your husband to a Doctor!!

All of the other answeres were correctin their possible diagnoses... if there is swelling in his testicles, you can apply an ice pack wrapped in a small towel or washcloth. This may ease the pain somewhat - as will over the counter medications, like Tylenol, Ibuprofen, aspirin. If it is not better by tomorrow, he needs to go see a doctor - especially if he has not recently injured himself(banged his testicles on something).Only a doctor can rule out anything more serious, and can correctly diagnose whether or not it's a new hernia.

there is a possibility he strained his groin muscle (which would simply require time healing)

HOWEVER....

it could very well be a developing hernia.

Hernias can be on either side near the scrotum but more in the location that you described. Hernias are a fairly common problem in males and would potentially require a minor surgery.

This is one of the most common surgical procedures required among males.

Regardless, he should see a physician and make sure that there is no development of testicular cancer.

It was good of you to inquire about this problem for him, as he may feel embarassed about it or that it's not urgent

Seeing a physician is extremely important, try and see to it that he follows up.

Hope this helps you,

Best of luck.
