You would have to be ignorant to not want to be at least a little dumber!

I think the reason "ignorance is bliss" is because you have no idea there is a problem. That's the idea behind it anyway.

I think you would be better off as an intelligent person because you would be able to enjoy the more complex ideas and conversations that a simple mind could not understand. The simple idiot does not have the chance to enjoy these things. Not only that, but stupid people have (either they create or they fail to avoid) more problems.

"Ignorance is bliss" is the biggest crap I've ever heard! Ignorance to law puts you in jail! How can you be happy with that?

I think I'd be happier when I'm smart because other people won't make fun of me and won't take advantage of me. Also, knowing so much gives you a feeling of satisfation, because what you learned and now know answers the questions you had... that's why we're all here in Y! Answers:)

Learning has nothing to do with true intelligence, which is when you are at peace and aware, not under the false influence of some stupid fact you have learned from someone else. True happiness can only come from the self, and can not be sought after, which is only the petty desire of an unintelligent mind...

I am happier when I learn things because I want to learn them. I don't like to be manipulated into memorizing garbage because an administration decides they are important. So, yes, I learning makes me happy but school does not make me happy. So, I would rather be called stupid (and be happy) for rejecting formal education.

You can feel very happy and be very stupid. For example, you could be very happy while smoking cigarettes. But, later on, when you get hooked on them and they line you nose with a permanent crust of black tar and turn the insides of your lungs into brittle, rotten meat, you will not be happy. In the long haul, people who get good educations, who learn how to think for themselves and make wise, rational decisions, tend to be happier and healthier.

Based on my increase in desire to escape that knowledge and so "kill off" that intelligence with the lessening of brain cells, I'd have to guess that it really depends on whether I'm sober, straight, or free from the effects of recreational pharmaceuticals or not. I tend to laugh hysterically at anything and everything under those conditions, so I'm guessing I'm happy. Kind of hard to remember the next day though....

Like most people, I'm intelligent in a lot of ways but also have my "stupid" moments.

I like the stupid moments better...ignorance is bliss.

Whoever said ignorance is bliss, was really on to something. I wish I were stupid, because when you're intelligent, you know more so, you worry more.

Happily ignorant is bliss indeed. With too much knowledge comes the loss of innocence.
