i have written something on the concept of 'time machine'
and now i want some feedback from around the world...
(on my blog which can be accessed through my Yahoo! Answers profile page)...
blog post is under the title "Forth Dimension"
Please dont consider it as spam.....i want some serious feedback..

Sorry Sahil, no such offers of points, or invites to gain some, are permissible in Yahoo! Answers’ Questions or Answers.
That is what is termed 'gaming for points' !
Somebody or other [not me !] is bound to report you for abuse, and misuse !

If you are interested in the 4th Dimension, you should read about String Theory that can have 10, 11 or 26 dimensions. There is actually quite a lot of materials written on the concept of 4th Dimension. There are also some paradoxes, like the Grandma's paradox, similar to your going back in time to kill Netwon. One argument against time travel is why we never get visitors from the future? Of course, all these are very intellectually stimulating and perhaps one day, it will also show us how we can use the new discoveries to do something useful for mankind.

String Theory

String theory is a model of fundamental physics whose building blocks are one-dimensional extended objects (strings) rather than the zero-dimensional points (particles) that are the basis of the Standard Model of particle physics.

For this reason, string theories are able to avoid problems associated with the presence of point-like particles in theories of physics, in particular the problem of defining a sensible quantum theory of gravity. Studies of string theories have revealed that they predict not just strings, but also higher-dimensional objects.

The basic idea behind all string theories is that the fundamental constituents of reality are strings of extremely small scale (possibly Planck length, about 10^-35 m) which vibrate at specific resonant frequencies. Thus, any particle should be thought of as a tiny vibrating object, rather than as a point. This object can vibrate in different modes (just like a guitar string can produce different notes), with every mode appearing as a different particle (electron, photon etc.). Strings can split and combine, which would appear as particles emitting and absorbing other particles, presumably giving rise to the known interactions between particles.

In addition to strings, string theories also include objects of higher dimensions, such as D-branes and NS-branes. Furthermore, all string theories predict the existence of degrees of freedom which are usually described as extra dimensions. String theory is thought to include some 10, 11 or 26 dimensions, depending on the specific theory and on the point of view.

As your paper states, time travel is possible and we have several theories as to how we can manipulate time as it pertains to the 4th dimension.

You can go back in time. You could kill Newton. The effects would be inconsequential though as the effects would ripple, the further you got from the event, the less effect it would have on mankind. If you throw a stone in a lake, the biggest wave is at the point of entry. The wave continues out in all directions but lessens as it disperses over distance. Hence, you could kill him, but 300 years later, it would not be as noticeable.

What do you think now? Good concept, good question, Good Luck!

It had little to do with a time machine and way more to do with basic concepts of time travel. To be honest, it seemed like something that a high school student might write for a science class report or a school newspaper article on time travel.

Your example of killing Isaac Newton was faulty as it only covers a single possibility. There are numerous theories on possible outcomes of interfering with the past to change the future. Your report doesn't even acknowledge that there are other possible outcomes.

I would like to say that i think… what all we do good or bads are recorded … and if all.. time traveling is made possible …that should not be done ! because certainly its unfair…
The point u said that we cannot chaange future or past .. that is ryt …all we did and do and said all the words are recorded somewhere… that may be established at the dooms day ! the thing we can change the present So… think about that !
