Its a little of both.
Testosterone causing agression, which when acted on is viewed as dominant, depending on the situation.
Your upbringing has alot to do with things as well. I had a very domineering mother, but the problem was, she had a very headstrong son. I was determined to control my life, even at an early age. I know people who are the opposite, and want a partner who will take control of their "life".
The third influence is the individual. I know women who are single parents, who like to "submit" to a man (not just sexually), and give up the feeling of having to be in control.

It's not that women are submissive, but I think that deep down inside most women feel the need to be dominated by a man, as it gives them a sens of protection and security. But as some women are stronger then others, it take a very strong man to dominate a strong woman, so in many cases she ends up as the dominant party in couple, because she can't find a man that is stronger then her. In the end it's the same thing as in the animal world . The stronger male , the dominant male is the one females want because he has the best genes and will assure the survival of the species.

The E document describes what is supposed to be a hierarchy in creation, starting at the bottom and working upwards. It ends with the creation first of men and then of women. Therefore the Bible tells us that women are superior to men. This is also communicated to us by the fact that Jesus, being born of a woman without the intervention of a man's chromosomes, was clearly female. Moreover, as you are aware, Paul says that there is no male or female, and God is described as female on many occasions, for example in terms of the word translated as "Wisdom" in Proverbs.

I think men and women are different in the sense of biological changes and their effects on the person. Men and women can be dominant and/or submissive depending on what's important to them and the circumstances. Also, the same person can be very dominant in one situation and be very submissive in another situation depending on the importance of the situation to him/her and circumstances. This is the way we are.
Very good question

Nope, I don't think so.
I do think that the way we are brought up, combined with our innate personna's does indicate whether we are dominant or submissive. Many men are very subby, while many women are dom - and vice versa, it just really depends on the people.

I don't think there is a rule of thumb as to natural tendencies. Our socialization which comes from the media, the political arena, the workplace and home affect us in our attitudes about the roles of men and women.

I 'd say the answer to this question is definitely NO. All of us are 'conditioned' by many factors - what we inherit in our genes, how we are treated by peers/parents etc., reactions we get from others as we grow through our own actions and ways of behaving, influence by role models, especially the father & brothers for a boy and the mother & sisters for a girl.
