a building with several movie theaters in it, generally playing several different movies at the same time. Very often the theater name has a number in it, like the "AMC 14" (cause there are 14 different theaters in the building (14 different rooms with screens)).

A multiplex theater is the term typically associated with movie theaters that have a large number of screening rooms. The local multiplex here has 24 screens. In Atlanta, multiplex is the norm. not too many years ago, the standard was 2-3 screens for a theater.
