Its probably the chemicals in those products making you itch. Just wash your face clean afterwards and splash on distilled witch hazel instead of aftershave.

yeah.. first you need to have a great facial scrub, it helps to slough away dead skin and minimizes in grown hairs and other skin irritation. Second: A great shaving cream. And lastly, an after shave balm and moisturizer.
Im a big fan of Kiehl's. So go to your nearest Kiehl's store. If you don't know have one near your. They also sell Kiehl's products at Saks, Neiman's and Nordy.

sometimes you have to change razors. I am 40 and have been shaving for 25 years, so building up resistance isn't going to help, i still have problems. I used a straight razor for awhile, then it started irritating me. Now I am using a Schick Quantro, and it works great. Good Luck!

Try Edge shaving cream. It's great. And don't leave the cream on too long (whichever brand you use). Start your shave immediately!

my husband can not shave with a bladed shaver he has to use an electric shaver only, and as for the rash the experts reccomend a shaving oil... they seem expensive for the size of the bottle but you get about a hundred shaves out of one bottle for about $7.00 australian

Do not use any alcohol based aftershave. They tend to dry the skin which can lead to irritation. Use an aloe based cream.

I'm all in favor of building up resistance. I dry-shave -- no shaving cream, no gel, no water, no aftershave, and no witch hazel.

sounds like your solution works pretty good.. a hot damp towel left on your face for a few minutes will also help you get a closer shave..

shave with the growth, not against it, ie from top of face in a downwards motion might help... and don't use a blunt blade
