Latley I've been having a lot of dreams that are scary or involve violence. One recent dream was someone with a knife was trying to get into my apartment though a window above my door and I was at the door yelling at him. I wasn't scared, I just wanted him to leave me alone. In another one, I was being raped and I was too weak to push him off of me, I tried but my arms and legs wouldn't move. Towards the end of the dream, I was trying to wake up and I knew I was dreaming but I couldn't open my eyes or move my arms and legs, then slowly I was able to open my eyes and I knew I was waking up but I still couldn't move my arms. I finally woke up and I stayed up the rest of the night. What do these dreams mean?

well, you can either use this two ways. if you have seen the future before in your dreams, then be careful. If you have not. you need to interpret the dream. the house in your dream can mean anything you want, it usually means home, comfort, shelter, memories. pick what you want it to mean. this person was invading your home, safety, but you were not scared. you felt you apartment was safe enough.
but when the person got in, they were violating you in an intimate way. you need to ask yourself what your body represents to you. was the person raping you someone you knew or felt you knew who it was. this may not be literal but the person was violating you as a person, not just physically. so much that you could not move.
How do you handle situations when you are under pressure. What do you do when you have a problem in life. Do you freeze up, or do you think it through and work it out. this may be what your dream it showing you. If this person was a stranger, it may mean that anyone could violate you as a person, I am not talking like the dream, but emotionally and mentally. You may be letting strangers hurt your feelings, or get in the way of something you know that you can do. because in the dream you couldn't move your arms and legs, but normally you can.
I hope this helps. I took a dream analysis class about a year ago.
blessed be.

First let's address your inability to move when you woke up from the dream. It's calle sleep paralysis, and I've experienced it too. I thought (in my sleep) that I was stuck to the roof of a whale's mouth... It is not uncommon during periods of emotional stess. When it happened to me, I was in the midst of a severe depressive episode.
Second, your dreams of being raped or attacked can have a couple of meanings. The one in which you're not afraid of your attacker indicates that something will happen that is inevitable, undesirable, but is not unanticipated. Rape in a dream doesn't necessarily mean something of a sexual nature. It is more likely to indicate a feeling of powerlessness to overcome an obstacle.
The occasion in which you woke up paralized probably was just a sex fantasy gone wrong. You may have been awakened before you were really able to be awake, and the result was a feeling of terror and helplessness.

You should probably limit yourself to G-rated entertainment until this blows over. It's amazing how even a Harry Potter movie can change your dreams about your family...

Let me analyze the dream

Being raped = no control
someone with a knife in your apartment = no security.
realized dreaming but couldn't wake up = weak mind

In your dream, you are seriously insecure and you are in controllable. That reflects your personality and what happen in reality. You may be in lack of sense of security. People around may not help you in any aspect. You have no help and in dream, you projected to be a victim and you have no other help at all in dream. That implies how insecure you are. You couldn't open your eyes because you may have a weak mind. You suppress your feeling to be trapped in the dream because you do not want to face reality somehow.

That is how I see from your dream, but I could be wrong

www.hyperdictionary.com

click on dream dictionary. THEN type in symbolicisms or situations: rape, weak, yelling, knife etc. and you can see it yourself.

this dictionary site kicks ***.
