I JUST started having trouble with my knees 9 months ago. I was wearing some bad shoes....hadn't been getting exercise, gained weight and fell into a stairway, hitting a knee on the edge of a step.
I limped for a few weeks. Got orthopedic shoes, which seemed to hhelp. I tried taking Glucosomine Chondroitin and Aleve. The doctors say that I have torn cartilige in both knees and advanced osteoarthritis in both knees. He said that both knees will have to be replaced in 5 years.

I am only 53 years old and NEVER had knee pain before last November when I had that little fall in the stairway.

It doesn't seem right.

How can I avoid knee surgery? Can exercise and weight loss help much? Can supplements help to rebuild the cartiige?

Do any of the steroid or Synvisc shots help?

What can I do to improve my knee, joint health.....What really works?

If you fell and started feeling chronic joint pain, then you at least have a probable source.

This is something to take up with your doctor.

If you have a general history of good health and an active lifestyle, then you may not need joint replacement surgery; physical therapy may be able to help you.

Unfortunately, you have torn ligaments - which take a long time to heal, if ever - and arthritis, which is highly degenerative.

Glucosamine has been shown to help only in minor to moderate cases, and the help is relatively small.

Best advise I can give as a non-medical professional is to lose weight, start exercising again, and start talking to your doc much more regularly.

Oh, and take aspirin if you can. Arthritis is an inflammatory disease, and aspirin may help reduce general inflammation. The corticosteroids should more acutely help relieve swelling, but aspirin is more for maintaining a lower level of general inflammation.

Homoeopathic Treatment :-
Start taking ARNICA 30C + BRYONIA 30C + RHUS TOX 30C. Please do not take any steroids or any drastic medicine with loads of side effects.
Take the above mentioned remedies thrice a day half hour before or after meals and report back with your progress and symptoms after taking them for three days regularly. And avoid Chocolates Coffee Red Meat and mints while taking homoeopathic remedies all of these antidote the curative effects of the remedies and avoid anything which gives you any digestion problems or constipation at all costs.
I assure you, you will be feeling loads better in a day or two and probably wont need a knee surgery at all if it can be helped. nothing works like Homoeopathic remedies. No Side effects No Complications Just Relief and 100% cures.
Take care and God Bless you.

The requisites on the Apollo Hospital in Colombo are prime. The gear is well and the medical professionals and surgeons have a tendency to be educated overseas. I consider that is mainly a higher alternative than India. You can get a brochure online. The large knowledge is that men and women in Sri Lanka quite often talk English, while in Thailand they don't.
