Alright....1995 or 1996 Chevy Impala SS..... dont be fooled by a CAPRICE CLASSIC.Same body and minor things but the Impala SS is a lil harder to find and has ALOT more to offer a car lover vs a Caprice.More performance goodies, eye candy, and has a motor from a 94 Corvette under the hood.Ive got a 96 SS with 190000 on it and it runs awsome...not to mention there arent too many cars 10 yrs old that can beat mine but hey...I'll settle for longevity.

Look around, pick a few cars from 5 years ago that you're interested in (IN YOUR AREA)... Find out how reliable they are by making a trip to the local car dump (wreckers) and pick the one with relatively few on the scrap heap =)

I have a mitsubishi lancer that is about 8 years old (I got it new) and it hasn't given me a days trouble, and my mechanic said they are very reliable little cars and if I keep looking after it I shouldn't have any major problems for atleast another 5 years.

I would say a Ford Mondeo (UK) or any Ford as the spare parts are very easily found and the parts are cheap. Though a volvo ages well, parts for Volvo and other makes can be more expensive so though your Ford may brake down, it shouldn't cost a fortune to fix.
