If you think your baby is ready then yes. You will need to make the teat hole a little bigger with a knife if putting it in a bottle which is a common thing i have heard many mothers do for babies aged 3mths and up to help them sleep through the night.
I give my 31/2 month old infant rice cereal (not many people on here agreed that i should) but she loves it. I dont see it as bad for her because babies with bad reflux are put on rice cereal at 3mths! It is ok. It used to be standard to put children on food at 3mths. They only changed it in prevention to food allergy risks etc.
The thing is you have to base it on your fulltime care and knowledge of your baby.Only you know your baby well enough. Just like mine. If you're not 100% sure on putting it in her bottle or feeding it to your baby, then wait a little longer. The thing is you can stop giving it to the baby if you feel you want to wait til later. Its not a case of once you start feeding the baby cereal you must always do it. You can start/stop at any time. Hope it helps!

No. While parents years ago gave cereal in the bottle regularaly, it is no longer recommended for a few reasons. For one it can cause unnecessary weight gain. Secondly, the whole point of feeding the baby cereal is to get the child used to eating solid food. If the baby is over 4 months old and you want to start feeding cereal, it should be fed as a meal from a spoon so the baby learns to use the mouth, jaw, tongue and teeth for eating. Giving it in the bottle defeats the purpose.
Why do you want to give the baby cereal? The only reason a pediatrician might recommend cereal in the bottle today is if the baby has bad acid reflux. But there are also special formulas and medications for reflux that solve the problem better than cereal in the bottle.

First off, how old is your baby? Babies from age newborn through to about 6-8 months shouldn't have a cereal based bottle. Cereal based feeding can cause babies to constantly spit up large amounts of the feeding, gas, which will make any baby uncomfortable, and when a cereal based bottle is introduced too early, below this age requirement, babies will not receive the crucial amount of daily needed requirements so important to their health and development.

It all really depends on how old the baby is. The main thing is it would have to be baby cereal and it would like someone else said need a bigger hole in the nipple. But be aware that the babies stomach might not be able to stand it. And ya might wind up with the child puking everywhere. New foods always make their stomachs go round and round. So be prepared for whatever you choose. Good Luck With It.

No. This has shown to increase obsesity in babies and later on in adults. Your baby does not have the trigger to know when they are full so putting cereal in their bottle will expand their tummies too early and make them needlessly into a bigger eater.
DO NOT LISTEN TO VETERAN MOTHERS! This is not good for your child, just ask your pediatrician or any other parenting site on the Internet like babycenter.com.

It really depends on how old your baby is. But yes, there are special baby cereals that are made for the baby's bottle. You can find them in the isle with all the rest of the babyfood in the supermarket.

I think it is absolutly ok. It helps my daughter sleep better at night. Also my baby use to spit up a lot and someone told me to put cereal in her bottle and it will help her keep it down. And it worked.

Why would you want to do this. Infants need only breast milk or artificial milk for the first 6 months of their lives. Cereal in bottles is not necessary nor recommended.
