Most babies get their first teeth between 5 and 12 months old, but some are earlier and some later. 8 months is not yet late. And some babies get their teeth very suddenly--the parents didn't know they were coming in until suddenly it's there!! So it could even happen tomorrow.

On an average most babies get their first tooth at around six months although the most common range is between six and nine months. All babies are different. Some have a tooth present at birth whereas some may not have any teeth till they are one year old. It is not a cause of concern. Teething is known to follow a hereditary pattern, so if you or your partner started teething late, your baby may do the same.

My niece was 15 months old when she got her first tooth and after that they didn't stop coming. She is 18 months old now and has about 9 teeth. My sister was so worried that she took her to the dentist and they said she was fine that she will get them soon enough and she did.

My friends daughter didn't get any teeth until she was almost a year old then she had three pop through overnight with no warning. I guess just wait and see and if he doesn't get anything by a year maybe go to a dentist, but I wouldn't worry yet.

Ignore the nasty comments.
Here is the deal, I have a son that was 15 months old before he got his first tooth. Talk to a dentist, if they are cincerned they will do x-rays.

Don't stress! every child progresses differently. My children got their teeth at 12 months. I have heard of others that have been sooner and some that have been later.
If you are really worried about it (which you should'nt be really!) then see you doctor about it ... even if its for peace of mind.

babies who don't develope teeth earlier are lucky. The longer it takes to get teeth the healthier their teeth will be
