Simpsons, definitely. Family Guy is only sometimes funny in my opinion. It does get good when they mix their normal reality with scenes from other tv shows and movies "Mets suck, Yankees suck, Krypton sucks." Funniest Family Guy episode ever. But it does occasionally get into stuff that isn't funny at all, like Mr. Weed being gay and dying at the Griffon's dinner table.

The Simpsons on the other hand have been around for years, and I still laugh during every episode I see. I've even starting to collect the seasons of it. 4 down, like 20 to go. The halloween episode is an annual favorite. "We have to kill the boy! Grampa, how did you know Bart was a vampire? Bart's a vampire? AAAAAH!" I can laugh just thinking about some of the episodes.

The Simpsons, hands down. It may be the only TV program left with any redeeming social value, and it's funny as +++. Family Guy, on the other hand, just stinks. A talking dog that nobody seems to even notice, including people he meets in the park. An infant with a football shaped head who talks like Kelsy Grammar, and nobody thinks that's odd either. And, finally, the picture of that fat slob husband in bed with is diminutive wife give me chills.

i think both of them are really funny but i would still have to go with family guy. Family guy has something that the simpsons totally lacks and i dont think the simpsons will ever be able to get that.

Definately The Simpsons. It's a great laugh-out-loud show, and is suitable for the whole family. It's a classic and is the original!

Answering the question based only on what the shows are currently producing, I would have to say Family Guy.

The Simpson's used to be much more critical of society in a funny way, but they seem to have lost that over the years.

If they could get that back, they could get back to number one in my book.

I know it's not on the list, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say "South Park." Eric Cartman's the man.

But if I had to chose between your choices, I'll go with "The Simpsons" any day. You have to love Homer.

Big fan of both but "Family Guy" is just funnier!

Family Guy because it's funny in a more subtle way.
