The other day, I was talking with a friend who happens to be a doctor. This subject came up, and it turns out that it's perfectly normal not to be completely regular. Unless you are on birth control, your period may come a few days earlier or later sometimes. My first period started at 9 years old, and it wasn't until I was 15 or so that I started being able to predict the day that it would start.
Hope this helps!
