it should be, and it is sad that yours was hated.

you have no cares or responsibilities.

that said, you can enjoy your adult life just as much....

as long as you are happy now.

In general, childhood is supposed to be the best and happiest time of your life, because it's free of the responsibilities of adulthood and full of wonder and surprise every day. Unfortunately, this isn't always true for every child. My childhood sucked, too, because of problems both in school and at home. I wouldn't relive my childhood as it was to save my life, but I would love to recapture the feeling of innocence, wonder, and freedom that comes with being a child. There are different ways to achieve that, either part-time or full-time. Only you know the way that's right for you.

Childhood is the best time of your life. When else can you seriously believe that inch high fairies give you money for your teeth. That a jolly laughing fat man gives you everything you want because you put a letter up a chimney.
When you can spend your days catching tadpoles in jars, making secret dens for you and your friends. When you can seriously be the happiest person in the world because your parents let you stay in a tent in your back garden.
Childhood is innocence, freedom, adventure, learning.
Mine was defo the best days of my life (SO FAR :) )
Just wish everyone could have had such a good one.

absolutely! evrything is an adventure when you are a child, every day is exciting and new - you have no worries of bills or a job or passing exams - childhood is freedom. It's having fun not knowing everything - wanting to explore new things and not being afraid to do so.; not being afraid of losing friends because you can make a new one tomorrow anyway; not being afraid to look stupid or dance around without thinking of what other people think of you. Childhood is by far my favourite time of life and when you have a child you get back a little part of that life that you lost as you did the awful thing of growing up! ;o)

I love my childhood. I wouldn't go back for anything. I mean, once I have tasted my responsibilities and freedom of an adult... I cannot go back to a dependent, and I think that's the idea.

The happiest time of my life is right now. I cannot change that, the now is where I am and where I am content with being - so that's when I am happy.

My childhood had a potential, but I had medical problems and I didn't have many friends. Till about 6 it wasn't so bad - I spent most of the time at my grandparent's farm, among books and animals, in the middle of nowhere. At 6 I had to go to school so I moved back to the city, where my parents lived. Since then I suffered. I was lonely. There were no such things like Yahoo Answers:) There were communists times and no such thing like computers either.
I recovered finally, but my social skills were flaky, my friendships were breaking so was my heart. It took me a long time to learn how to keep a friend.
In the same circumstances, I wouldn't go back in a million years. But as I am now - healthy and with much more developed social skills - I would love to.

I grew up a really happy kid and I would give anything to be that little 4 year old again... playing in the garden, drawing all day, everyone proud of you because you tried to make you bed and made a mess of it, cooking soup: veggie's in water.. and having your family say that it's tasty... I loved my childhood, but it was not a long one.. as soon as I had to go to school things got worse.. there was too much pressure on performing well, and my parents didn't understand the benefit of letting a child be a child.. so I wouldn't go back to my schooltime for anything..

I'm sorry if you didn't have a happy childhood.

I could say that my childhood was neither too happy nor too sad.

But as I grow up and became an adult, I made sure that I always have a part of me that remained 'child-like'. (Like I giggle when I'm happy, I play with kids in the neighborhood, I loved chocolates like kids do, pursues popcorn and cotton candies at the movies, and even watch cartoons!- the new ones are really good)

You see, unless we tend to be 'child-like' once in a while (not childish - that's different) our life will be a bit of a bore especially when you are working and you've got heavy responsibilities.

Smile a lot and be thankful. You've already grown up!

I had a great childhood, was really happy and fun, great upbringing the lot, i was lucky.

But.. i have to say my college years 1999-2004 were the best ive had, in that time i made the best friends ive ever had, went to different countries, got pregnant had a beautiful baby boy. Its just been amazing, id rather go back there if i had the choice to be honest!

I love my childhood. Everything was so simple and uncomplicated. I got to play with all of my cousins. We had a blast, playing in trees, spending the night with each other, going fishing and froggin, having barbecues with all the families, going to school and playing "Red Rover", playing with my "Tiny Tears Doll", doing my homework, playing with my dad, who died when I was 11, fighting with my little brother and defending him on the bus against bullies. I had a great childhood, even the part of jumping off a porch and breaking my leg. God, I wish I were young again.
