A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."
The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less.
In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?

The man didn't say how many weights he would write. He could have predicted the boy was between 50 and 80 kilos and witten every weight between them.
Or, because he said exact, and no one really knows their exact weight unless they're standing on a scale that measures miligrams, so as the man didn't say "when" he would write the weight, maybe accompanied the boy to weigh himself, seen the weight and written it. It's all a play in words, that's why contracts are used, so lawyers can play with words legally!
Do I get $50?
Mine is more strategic than just arguing about whether he said he'd write "your exact weight" rather than what the quote refers to, which should have been said with his fingers doing the quotation, bunny ears flopping, movement.

This is a little funny and I would not have paid the carny personally. The carny does not say "If I guess your exact weight"
He just says if I can "Write" your exact weight. So, if the carny can write he wins :-)

The carny wrote down these words: "your exact weight." It didn't matter what the boy said or how much he weighed...it was just a trick.
