I am 37, dating a divorced 37 yr old man from India. I already know that he is Hindu, (not Muslim) and he has been in the U.S. for 6 years. Does anyone know about how Indian men view American women, and/or any traditions or attitudes I should be aware of while dating him? I really like him and would appreciate any information you may have related to this. :)

Be careful. It is rare for an Indian man to marry outside of his religion and culture unless he needs a green card / citizenship or it satisfies some other need he has, monetary or businesswise. I would check carefully to see if he is here on a expired visa. Also, it is very unusual that he is divorced, and I would look carefully into why and into whether or not he really is divorced. He may just be in it to satisfy his sexual curiosity, as Indian men do not often get to have sex with Western women unless they are going to prostitutes. As far as how Indian men view American women, they view them as rich, easy, naive targets, as do men from many other countries, unfortunately.

Look whatever I am gonna tell you about Indian men in general is absolutely true you gotta believe me. Their culture looks good but the society and the people are not good.Their society is selfish and has never given any respect to women since time immemorial, they treat women like a sex machine and that's their mentality which is very cheap indeed. When it comes to white woman or any white people the first thing that comes in their mind is either sex or dollars and nothing more. Indian men are very cunning, manipulative and too greedy by nature, they can never be honest to anyone not even to his own siblings. Actually, they are not what they are seemed to be. Trust me, they are hypocrites and are not trustworthy at all. You said your Indain man is a divorcee, I doubt here, because there are thousands of such indian divorcee men abroad today you may wanna find out first if he is not among those selfish husbands who claim divorced abroad but the reality is different that they leave their newly wedded wives behind after extorting millions of rupees in Dowry as a custom at the time of the marriage. That's the money they invest to go to abroad and never fold back to visit wives. Wives back home suffers from mockery and insult in the society and many commit suicide due to shame and helplessness. So, do you really wanna go with him before doing this small research on him? You don't wanna ruin your life at this mysterious hand.Do you? Just stay away from these parasites. They are not worth .

The fact that you are asking these types of questions indicate to me that you already have some idea as to what it may be like. Otherwise what difference would it make where a person is from, what race or colour. If you meet someone and they make you happy and you have a lot in common that should be enough. I may not be as informed as some, however just from what I have witnessed the respect for women in some of these cultures is non exsistent. Good luck.

''Dating a man from India'' sounds very dramatic. Do you get the feeling that he is somehow different? There are more than one billion people in India, I guess that more than half of them are male, quite a large percentage of them must be around 37, so you could say he must be a pretty average human being. Anyway, it is nice to know that you are interested, but please don't make him feel as though he is 'different', just ask him to tell you about his life in India, and about how he feels about living where he is now. You must realise that percentage wise he is much more 'average' than any American man his age, judged against the population of the world.

he probably isn't very traditional. Discuss him about traditional roles in India and ask him how he feels about those.

For example, I have never met an Indian man who could cook.

i'll supply an worry-free answer. Indian women as an entire are literally not into black men. diverse races are literally not. all of us comprehend the excuses why. a very small type should be interested in black men and that i have considered some indian women yet basically observing those women you purely comprehend no one ought to choose them. LOL.

JUST ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION. IF YOU LIVED IN AMERICA ALL YOUR LIFE AND THEN MOVED TO ANOTHER COUNTRY FOR 6 YEARS, WHERE WOULD YOUR HEART REALLY LIE? IT WOULD LIE IN AMERICA. AND WITH THAT SAID, EVERYTHING ELSE IN HIS LIFE LIES IN HIS NATIVE COUNTRY. I'M NOT SAYING THIS WOULD BE A BAD THING. BUT I HAVE LIVED IN 2 FOREIGN COUNTRIES(IRAQ,KOREA) AND I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF PEOPLE TRY TO GET TO AMERICA BY SUCKING UP TO AN AMERICAN AND GET MARRIED SO THEM AND ALL 25 MEMBERS OF THEIR FAMILY CAN COME HERE AND BE CITIZENS. I KNOW YOU SAID THIS GUY IS ALREADY HERE. BUT THIS LEADS ME TO MY NEXT POINT. SINCE SEPT 11TH IT HAS BECOME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STAY IN THIS COUNTRY FOR LONG PERIODS UNLESS YOU ARE MARRIED TO AN AMERICAN, AND EVEN THEN YOU MAY HAVE PROBLEMS. SO JUST MAKE SURE HIS MOTIVES ARE PURE. I HAVE HEARD SMOOTHEST LIES AND BELIEVED THEM ALL. THAT'S HOW SLICK PEOPLE BECOME WHEN THEY ARE DESPERATE.

India is the country that allows men to set their women on fire if they are displeased with them or if she breaks the rules of HIS house.
