Either the 50's or the 70's. I always tell my friends that I think I was suppose to be born in either of those decades. I love the whole vibe of the 70's, from the music to the style, fashion and the cars. The same with the 50's, except I like how society was then, or at least what I've read about. It seems like a time I would thoroughly enjoy.

Actually I lived through all of them. I was born in 1960. The early 70's were the most fun I think, things were much more relaxed then in this country right after the Vietnam War ended and before Watergate..that was the best time in history for this country.
This country was concentrating on the arts, music, environmental issues were very big then.
Civil rights, equal opportunity, freedom of speech ,was rampant then also. There was no one afraid back then of speaking their mind about the government or any other issue without being labeled a "liberal",and being a Democrat was not a bad thing.
The middle class was doing OK,the cost of living was good.Family life, everything was possible then.
It was a very good time to be alive and there was no terrorist threat on our soil back then either. Our country was strong and respected throughout the world.
Most importantly I think ,you didn't have to be a millionaire to enjoy the good life back then either.
Although I was just starting high school at that time,I would like to back to that time again at my age now. It would be a fun time.

The 50's and not just for a week but I wish I had grown up back then. Times were much more simpler and I know there were hard times and money was tight but still I wish I had grown up in the 50's. The fashion was sophisticated and the women were classy, family values were important, music and rock & roll were creating an effect that we still feel today, and I truly believe that people were happier. Making comparisons to the present, I believe people were nicer; manners were expected and insolence was not tolerated, people were not as selfish, and our country was more patriotic. Today's society has lost so many values that we used to think important, and for me it is frusterating having to live in such a superficial culture. Sometimes I get jealous of my grandparents because they were able to experience such a wonderful time in history and all I can do is listen to the stories.

I grew up during the 60's and 70's and whooee!! we had a rip-roarin' good time, I must say! I have always loved history, [history was one of my favorite subjects] and would love to live in the South; pre-Civil War. That time period fascinates me. Thanks for asking!
