I already lived through almost 3 of those and the 60's we a bit too much for me, I would say the 20's. I want to find out why they called it the "Roarin' Twenties".

If the Time Train does call at my station I would not like to board it since it would be moving in the reverse direction from which I have just detrained facing all the overcrowding, the delays en route, sometime so long that it appeared the train had perhaps reached the destination or that the forward track has been washed out. I have no attraction for the past. Even if the train were to take me to stations which were earlier to my embarkation- say the Golden Age, it would not exite me. I know that social inequalities were at their nadir in those days. Compared to those times the present are far,far better with more social justice and the stations to come , I hear, are mjuch, much better. At those station at the back there were severe restrictions who could get on the train and if so where to sit. Even if the unreserved compartments were overcrowded the undifferentiated crowd had but to push themselves in there or miss the train. The Upper Class bogeys might berunning empty but the common travellers may not get in and if they did dare face the consequences of even being thrown out as Mahama Gandhi was from a train in South Africa since the bogey was menat only for the Whites. No sir, We are to go forward and forward only. Perhaps we may recall some back stations nostalgically but that was that. Our tickets are for the forward journey and the train on this platform is not for us.Not only the tickets we hold are not valid for the journey but we would have to shell down heary penalties for this unauthorised itinerary.
