i live an hour away from my doctor so i dont want to go up there for nothing if its probably a false labor. im gettting little cramps around every five minutes, but they are really small and dont really hurt that much. my belly gets hard too and a few minutes ago i felt like i was going to puke(and i have no had ANY morning sickness or thrown up at all during this pregnancy). it kind of feels like im hungry, but i ate the BIGGEST dinner ever. my baby is also moving ALOT!! i am due july 30. what do you think?? should i call my mom and wake her and tell her or do you think its probably false? i figured real labor would be unbearable but these dont really bother me. and yes i can feel a little pain in my lower back when they happen too, but it doesnt really hurt

How to tell when you are in real labor:
Contractions are symmetrical.
Contractions begin at the cervix, move up and around to the back or from the back to the front.
They are regular and occur in a predictable pattern.
They get longer, stronger and closer together.
They do not stop if you change what you are doing and walking may make them more intense.

And again:
Remember to call your doctor if your water breaks, even if you are not having contractions

When in doubt, always call the doctor or go to the hospital.

I think the info the RN gave is probably the most accurate but all pregnancies are DIFFERENT!! From my experience I didn't realize I was in labor because I didn't experience any of the usual signs. My labor began in my BACK and continued there until RIGHT before my dau. was born. I had been told it would start in my cervix, etc. so I didn't realize I was in labor. The best way I can describe it was bad menstral cramps-but in my back. My water NEVER broke with either of my pregnancies.I also lived 1 hr. from the hospital & was there only 4 hrs. until I delivered. But true labor can be timed and it will not go away. Watch the same clock and time your pain. But YES, if you haven't yet, tell your mom NOW better safe than sorry because I learned all pregnancies are different. I've watched two other deliveries (besides my 2)from the start of labor until birth and all 4 were very different. I have heard of sickness right before delivery also. God Bless!

I would think since you live an hour away and your possible contractions are five minutes apart that you might want to go ahead and go to the hospital. Sounds like it could be labor, especially since you are SOOOO close to your due date. By the way, when I had contractions for the first baby they didn't hurt at all for about the first two hours...I would have thought it was false labor if my water hadn't broken! If you go and it's not labor the worst that can happen is that they send you home. If it is and you wait too long...you could have the baby before you get there!

I was a pro at having false labor!! I went to the hospital Many Times because sometimes I just couldn't tell them apart… even after 4 kids! What you have sounds like mine, with one exception. I never got sick. My niece got sick to her stomach when she really was in labor. The thing with your stomach getting hard can also be part of false labor as it prepares itself for the real thing. What I would do is call my doctor and ask what he thinks, or call the hospital. Tell them what you are experiencing and see what they feel you should do.

My heart is with you, Love! Take care and God bless!!

They are probably Braxton-Hicks contractions, which basically are false labor. True labor has pains high in your abdomen and they are regular (ie: every 5 minutes apart.....you should go to the hospital), Any discharge? Is your water breaks you need to go to the hospital also. Mucousy discharge with a small amount of bloody show is normal......is this first baby for you? If so, be assured....they won't fall out ! :)

Well, if this occurred 3 weeks in the past. I'd say you would take a being pregnant experiment now. Go get a experiment and take it after which see. You normally do not begin getting higher till later, despite the fact that. But you'll get majorly bloated on the opening.... So who is aware of? Buy a experiment and notice!

False labor isn't usually regular. In other words the timing is erratic. But, in real labor the baby usually calms down. You should definitely call your mom and have everything ready to go to this hospital, just in case. And, congratulations!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there.... don't panic k.. probably coming soon.. monitor if there's lot of bleeding.. Take a pc of paper, take down the time the pain comes everytime.. check for intensity of pain.. i felt like i'm constipated when my contraction came... for reference, my pain arrived at 5pm+ at interval of 5-10mins and I delayed dillied dallied, take a good bath and hair wash, then went to hospital at midnight... My gal didnt arrive til next day almost noon! Real labour may not be so unbearable for all, different people different mah.. so act on your instinct....
