When I ask a serious question I don't get any answers...but when I ask a "which do you prefer" I get like 20-70 answers...WHY?

serious questions require a like answer and therefore thought and/or research, this queston for example is requiring me to think and now i am getting a pain behind my left eye... you did this, are you proud

People aren't always into real questions/answers. Trust me I know how ya feel. When I want a real answer to a real question, I get barely any, but ya ask what a person's favorite is or something you get like a million. I so agree with you, it annoys the heck out of me.

I am taking a break from serious. Answering a 'What if, or Hey, what do you think question,' is not too serious and I can blow off a little steam.

i get that a lot..yeh, when you ask a simple question or a funny one, people respond in droves..also, the time of day is a small factor..many users are seeking for 2 easy points..rather than try and help out someone in need. it goes with the territory i guess..so, in conclusion, if you need a serious answer, its fate against points..and the latter would choose the points..where's the respect and courtesy? this site lacks it very much-IMHO

Easier questions can easily be answered and we need to be in a serious mode if we would want to answer serious questions. So fact of the matter is, we are usually in goofy mood so you get more answers for goofy questions. :)

I am surprised that in the math and science sections you get quite a bit of seriousness there, so that is hopeful.
