Think about it this way- when was the last time you used any of this? My highschool algebra teacher was perfectly frank about this- 90% of it, you'll never need. Highschool was a long time ago for you. If you retained anything, you're doing well. This class will be pretty easy for you if you balance your own checkbook, so take the bonus to your GPA and smile. Back in college I missed placing into third year Spanish by two questions. I didn't feel stupid- I was mad as heck! But what can you do, really?

Don't worry about it. Some people have problems with math (particularly algebra), but excel in other subjects. Some people just don't test well. It isn't a measure of your intelligence, but of your skills in regard to a certain subject.

Also, it's great that you're going to college. You should be proud of yourself.

It's ok to take a math class in college! I have taken many classes and I'm over 40. :) I'm working my way up, everyone starts somewhere! Good luck and don't give up.

Alge...who?

Heck, I took Calculus last year and I already relegated that knowledge to the mental recycling bin.
