Red Hot Chili Peppers is a punk/funk/metal band, but you might want to check out some of their earlier albums if you don't like the mellowness of Stadium Arcadium. It depends whether you like pure noise or guitar solos.

Asian Kung-Fu Generation is as stated, an asian band. Just because they're Japanese doesn't mean they don't have the skills or the attitude! They have both headbanging and softer songs, but all of it is definitely rock.

If you are into street punk I would suggest, Cheap Sex, Illegal Occupation, Recovering Creeps (Can't find unless you have Myspace) Left Alone, The Sub Humans, Leftover Crack, The Adicts, Choking Victim, Capatilist Casulaties, and Rotten Youth.
