I don't know how you could possibly be hooked up on the internet in Afghanastan typing on Yahoo Answers. My Commanding Officer would never allow that.

Zero soldiers looking for him. (He's in western Pakistan, we have no troops there, and neither does the Pakistani army).

Zero CIA officers looking for him. (Bush abolished the al Qaida special unit of the CIA).

But the good news is that every week we're spending $2 billion and ten soldiers planting the seeds of democracy. Or creating a beacon of hope in the Middle East. Or standing down while the Iraqis stand up. Or whatever the hell we're supposed to be doing.

Good question.

Actually, I don't believe that they are really looking for him. If they really wanted to find him, I think they'd have got him by now.

Just think, they have the US army there, The English, The Australians, The Afghan and The Pakistanis all looking for some guy who lives in a cave. The people around that region would sell their mother for $10 so bribing someone to point out where Bin Laden is should not be difficult.

Maybe they don't want to find him. Maybe it would create more problems than it solves.

Who knows.........

The answer is not going to really be known. There are 10 to 12,000 soldiers in Afghanistan I believe but many of them are there to help the new government; and some are there to find Osama. The numbers of each are not known.

none

Either Osama Bin Laden is dead. How many men do you know can live with just one kidney for a long period of time?

Or he is a CIA agent. Yup, sounds crazy, huh?

Fact: Bin Laden's family and Bush's are friends.

last time I looked about 6 months ago... according to the DOD we had about 20,000 in Afghanistan total... of course some are helping with defense...

netjir's numbers may be more recent as I have heard of some being recalled...

but I would put the number at a couple of thousand... even though from all accounts, he's probably not even in the country anyway... he's in Pakistan...

so maybe some covert ops groups... but I wouldn't put the number over 1,000...

so... very few, considering we have forces of over 200,000... with most looking in places where he probably isn't even stationed anymore...

pretty sweet deal to kill 3,000 on U.S. soil and basically get away with it... guh...

very few soldiers. Other Government agencies are handling that. We are trying to stabilize the country and wipe out the Taliban. And don't you think for one second there isn't enough of us here. The Taliban are getting their asses handed to them over here. If anybody here thinks its not enough I suggest you pick up a weapon get your butt over here and pitch in!

We don't want to find bin laden. If we did, we couldn't use him as a bad excuse for being in Iraq.
