Else, here are some suggestions for you:

You should study many subjects because astronauts need to know many things. Most are not specialists in a single subject.

Study language, mathematics and science. Exercise because astronauts must be in excellent physical condition. You must go to a good university and continue your studies.

At least 2 alumni from my university have been astronauts who went into space. They studied earth science (geology, chemistry and biology)

Remember, many astronauts train but never get to go into space. It is a very rare and special opportunity.

Good Luck,

First you need to become a citizen of a country that has a manned space program. Right now that means the US, China or Russia. Then you need a lot of hard work.

The astronaut program is very exclusive and difficult to enter. The early astronauts and most of the Shuttle pilots started off as Air Force pilots. The payload specialists have an advanced degree or several in their area of specialty. They work on programs that involve space research, and often design their own experiments. These people are very smart and hard working.

You also need to be physically fit. Rockets and the Shuttle lift off with a 3-4 G thrust; that means 3 to 4 times the normal force of gravity. To be able to just breath during this requires a person to be physically fit. Exercise like swimming will help in this area. You will increase your lung capacity and stamina, which will help you to maintain consciousness while under high Gs. Fighter pilots make good astronauts because they need to do the same thing in order to fly fighter jets.

You were born at the right moment. Space exploration is finally opening up for the civilians. The first private astronaut was a test pilot over 50 years old. He would have been too old to be a NASA pilot. More nations are developing space programs. India currently has a rocket program and puts small satellites into orbit. They do have problems and don’t have a manned space program, which is pretty common for developed nations.

The easiest method would be to become rich and buy a ticket on a civilian spacecraft, or work for such a company. There are a lot of companies just starting out and you will have a better chance to be employed by them, than making it into an astronaut program.

Right now I would say study math and science very well. Go to college and get a degree in a science program. Become a strong swimmer, maybe even take scuba classes and try to get your pilot’s license. You can’t fly a fighter jet unless you are a civilian test pilot or an Air Force officer, but if you can fly a small plane you will have a great start.

You might want to immigrate to the US and become a US citizen. There are more space programs being planned in the US and the US population is lower than India, so statistically you will have a better chance becoming an astronaut in America. Americans seem to be prejudiced against Indian schools. Somehow thinking that they are less “valuable” or important than US schools (it may not be true, but that’s the way many people think). So you might want to attend a US college.

Study in the areas of math and science. Try writing to NASA and ask them how to go about training to be an astronaut. Does your country have a program? If it does, write to them too. Contact the University, talk to a counselor there, they can help you. Good luck.. :)

My suggestions..........prepare from now only.coz this is the right time.

1. Get urself stronger in the fundamentals of physics..the back bone of astronomy (I believe !!!!!!!!!)
2. Don't ignore the boring theorms of mathematics
3. Visit some of the learners forum on aeronautics
4. my last one...........don't give up ur dream for any silly reaons like adolescence..........try hard, may be u might be "up above the sky so high"

May want to think about that - remember what happened the last time an Indian gal went up in space. Ended up mostly in Texas.

research it
its a hard career because i think in the US you have to be in the navy or in the army in order to be an astronaut
