When purchasing a postage stamp, you are entering into an official contract with the post office to deliver your mail within a "Reasonable" time.

If they do not, you can then sue them for the full cost of the item, {if you have proof of what was in your package}, and the cost of the postage stamp too.

Unfortunately, you cannot sue them for mail posted to yourself that is lost or mis-placed, unless you have posted it to yourself in the first place, because you have not created the contract on the postage paid for the item.

No.
The only time the USPS will pay for mis-delivery is if the article was registered or insured. If only registered, you only get back that fee. If insured you get the amount of insurance you purchased if the entire item is lost.

USPS has no liability for mis-forwarding of mail.

Since the USPS does not create change of address requests, did someone else at your address move and send a change of address that somehow covered you also? If so, just go down to the post office and fill out the forms to have your mail re-forwarded back to you.

LMAO - I hate the USPS. They did that to me about 3-4 weeks before Christmas a couple years ago & guess what happend to all my mail & presents for family and friends? Yup, they got sent back stamped "Return to Sender: Addressee Unknown." Unfortunately, I would say no. I wish so. We just get to deal with the idiots that work there. Hell, if you start a class action lawsuit, let me know, I'd go in on it.

"When I did not move", well.........SOMEBODY filled out a change of address card, without you knowing!! Maybe, whoever did it just wanted your mail. It's the same as stealing. If the Post Office gets a change of address card, they can only assume it was from YOU. You should talk to the postmaster, or the posatal inspectors.
