Why does everyone say that gays don't have the right to marry they have just as many rights as I do ( I am not gay ). I can't just go out and marry some guy I am restricted to women ( I am a guy ). So why does everyone say that they don't have the right to marry.

Live and let live people...
Any straight couple can get married at any moment, whether they love each other or not. Two complete strangers can get married on a whim. People get married for the wrong reasons all the time. Because of an "unexpected" pregnancy, for legal status or for financial security, because of loneliness and desperation, to be "happy", to be an "adult", family pressure, he or she loves you, for immigration purposes, because they don't want to grow up (they want to be taken care of) etc.... Yet a gay couple that has been together for 25 years can not marry because it's "wrong". People are such hypocrites.

Here is a little food for thought:

Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control are not natural.

Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people cannot get legally married because the world needs more children.

Obviously gay parents will raise gay children because straight parents only raise straight children.

Straight marriage will be less meaningful, since Britney Spears's 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.

Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and it hasn't changed at all: women are property, Blacks can't marry Whites, and divorce is illegal.

Gay marriage should be decided by the people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of minorities.

Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are always imposed on the entire country.
That's why we only have one religion in America.

Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people makes you tall.

Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage license.

Children can never succeed without both male and female role models at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.
Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to cars or longer lifespans.

Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages will for gays & lesbians.

PS: If it's not clear yet here it is:

♥ I'm straight and support gay marriages 100% ♥

To me gays are born as they are. They cannot control who they are just like I cannot help but be straight. Check out homosexuality in nature. Being gay is not something humans invented. Read "Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity," by Bruce Bagemihl. You will find that homosexuality often serves the evolutionary pace of life.

However, I do not think the world is ready to accept gay marriages. No matter how natural homosexuality may or may not be, marriage is a thing to do with religion. And no matter how they try to interpret the Bible, they should know that religion cannot accept this.

And besides. Can you just imagine how the rest of the world will react? Especially the Arab countries? Hell, they might decide to nuke us and get it over with once and for all.

P.S. Your question is funny. Kinda like the time when blacks were not allowed to marry whites. Some whites then insisted their rights were being infringed upon because they weren't allowed to marry blacks... However, in your case, if you wanted to marry a guy you would be considered not straight but gay... I just confused myself. =P

If you are a straight male, then you are allowed to marry the people you are attracted to, the people that you will fall in love with. For gay people they have been discriminated against for years. They are ostracized for being the way they are despite the fact that they have no choice in the matter. Gay people just want to be able to marry the person they love. You love people of the opposite sex, which is what is considered normal; however, homosexuals love people of the same sex. They are treated differently and their ultimate dream is to live in a world in which they are treated the same as everyone else despite their sexuality. They just want to be allowed to be happily or unhappily married. While things are getting better in today's society, they still face many obstacles they must overcome before words like "fag" are no longer used in everday conversation. The day that this happens will be a great day. What you don't seem to realize, though is that in Colorado most recently, and in Massachusetts several years ago, it was ruled that homosexuals could get married. Gay people are taking one step at a time to get their rights. You must understand that they don't have the right to marry who they want to. While you may not want to marry a man and you aren't allowed to, they don't want to marry women, but they can't marry men and vice versa for lesbians.

Lucky for the gays in my country marrying is no problem. But I wonder why other people want to mess with the (sex)live of gays. Is it because they miss something in their own lives ??
If you see the amount of women who get raped of harassed by men i wonder why you don't talk about that. Violent heterosexual man is a big problem, especially because it is most likely done by someone you know.

I strongly believe that gays should have the right to marry. I think it's very sad that the government has taken that away from the gay community. It's heartbreaking to me, and I am straight and happily married. Gays should have the right to be married and have the right to be as miserable as everyone else! LOL!....... But I really do mean it, they should have the right to marry who ever the hell they want!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some Thoughts

-Arn't we all gods children? Shouldn't he love us all?

-Gay is not a trend, Unless it lasted like thousands of years. (anicent greeks were so gay or maybe they just liked staring at naked men)

-There are gay animals

-Gay is natural and not something learned, if anything gays have learned to be heterosexual because of people that judge them.

-It is impossible for the entire world to turn gay and cease existance as we know it. It has the same chance as the whole world deciding they don't want children and all used condoms.

-Why is being gay nasty? (It just is or its wrong or a man shouldn't be with a man, fine tell me why)

-Being gay does not spread dieases (proven soooo long ago)

-Have you ever wondered why you hate gays? (only for gay haters)

-Being gay does not harm society, (it doesn't kill people, it doesn't hurt people, it doesn't harm anyone)

-A kid seeing a gays kissing should be the same as seeing a man and a woman kissing, if you consider it different explain why and see if something i listed above can't solve it.

-The original bible states nothing against gays, men added that
in

- You can change the defination of the word marriage. I'm sure meaning of worlds have been changed before.

Dante: Right on!!

Why can't people just live their own lives and leave other people alone?? Is there something so lacking in their marriages that they are afraid gays will do better at it than they do??

Where is it written in the Constitution of the United States who you partner can be? I don't care about what anyone THINKS what the bible says because the bible has no place in this discussion!

The bottom line is that this is about money: Survivors benefits, insurance, and any other financial change that would be made, or right given.

Falling in love is a right that can never be taken away, especially by a law.

It's not what you are, but who you are. That's all that matters in the end.
