I still don't understand why people think that it is wrong for someone to want to end their life. If someone doesn't wish to continue living then how can anyone else see that as being wrong. It is their life, and they should be able to do whatever they want. If they feel that they've reached the conclusion of it then we should be able to accept that. Someone can get killed in a accident, or die of illness and people can accept that it was their time to go. Yet it is wrong for someone to be able to choose when they should end their life. Even someone that has a terminal condition is not allowed to end their own life. I just can not understand how other people feel can not accept someone's choice about their life.

I'm with you on this one... I don't understand either, especially for terminally ill people who want to die with dignity. Other than religious reasons, there doesn't seem to be a good reason at all.

The reasons are the answers. Why does someone not want to live anymore? Can it be fixed? Killing someone else is a crime, and killing yourself should be too. Find a solution for the problem other than death. In terminal patient situations, it is different as there are not so many choices.

Because the spirit in you is a loan, an engine designed to carry you over the bumpy road of life. Your mileage at the end of the journey determines your ultimate destination. If you renege or default on the loan, how do you expect to receive a good credit rating? Read Psalm 51 and Psalm 139.

Its against the law of nature. Have you seen any animal committing suicide ? they are even more helpless than we humans, as they can't communicate nor can take care of themselves.

If you have some religious inclination, then its sure that you will understand very well that committing suicide is just like leaving a classroom without learning the full lesson. You are born in this world to fulfill some cause & to learn something. You will HAVE to learn it may be in this birth or re-births. In next birth its even more struggling, as you have to start from the beginning, so why to waste this precious life.
I 100% agree with 'starrwoode'.

I consider it a selfish thing to do. It hurts the people who loved the person, and causes a disruption in culture itself. someone shouldn't have the right to control their destiny like that...that's why it's, well, destiny. That's how I see it anyway. Many Christians believe it is wrong because it's a form of killing, even if it's yourself, it's one of God's creatures (which I believe). It's also believed that one won't be forgiven for killing themselves, I guess because that would be the last thing they've done, and wouldn't be able to repent. Anyway, it depends on who you're asking. we all have different opinions, and to some yours makes sense. i can see your argument, but not enough that I would change my opinion.

Everyone is looking for answers. If your answer is end your life then you have found your answer. It scares people because they are stupid. They believe that it is a direct reflection on their own life if anyone ends their life. As if they are bad people because they didn't prevent it, or could have prevented it. Yet these same stupid people are not willing to improve the lives of humanity. The one and only cause of death is being born. The only verification for life is quality.

I think if you are mentaly stable, and have a terminal illness, you should no doubt be able to have the choice killing yourself. In a humane way of course.

If anyone wants to talk about this email me.

i thought that about 20 years ago, i wanted to die ,i lived in a very abusive relationship and he was one of these people that in public he was a angel but alone with me ,he was the devil, i hated to see every holiday come and week end because he was going to be drunk and i was going to either take a beating or be in fear of getting it.i felt i couldn't tell anyone because i thought they'd never believe me because they all liked him,so i got in my car took a machedy, and every pill i could find, his mother had died about a month or so before i tried this ,and all her morphine pills were in her house so i got about 30 pill, some sleeping pills and another pill i can't remember and went to a hotel and checked myself in and laid all the pills on the table by color in rows, and the machedty was just in case that didn't work i was going to cut my hand off ,so i could bleed to death, that how bad i wanted to die.but that day, id been planning it all day and i went around to friends i couldn't go to my family i knew id change my mind, so after i had took about have the pills i remember i had forgot to tell one of my best friends, with was a friend of my husbands to but he had always protected me and would always try and calm My husband down, anyway i called him , and he knew me well enough to know something was wrong and he and my brother-in-law left work and rode around til they found me, if he hadn't cared enough to look for me i would not be writing this right now , and i would never gotten married to a wonderful man, not the friend, someone i met at work,he looks like a young SAM Elliot, and i would have never seen my grand children, i would have missed a whole new life if i had died, now in the case of the sick, i can understand that someone might want to get out of the pain and go on, but those last moments with the family that you will never see again for a long time,is worth the pain, my mom died in march and she suffered horrible but she wanted every minute, and so did we.and too you will go to hell,in my case i was already in hell. but if this is you you are talking about, tell some one get help theres alway something better coming ,you just have to wait sometimes longer than you feel like

because in some religions commiting suicide is the ultimate sin! people think that to kill urself means automatically going to hell! and also taking ur own life seems selfish to some people because there are people in the world that are sick and dying and want to live, so u'll be seen as a bad person for wasting a life, especially ur own!

yeah well how do they know it is the conclusion without terminal illness or accident? God put us here for a reason. You may be here to make even just one person happier than they ever were in their whole life (to be their angel here on earth). And they yours.
