Well the tube in which glue is kept has its inside oiled in such a way that the glue doesnt stick. If u rip open a tube after the glue is finished, u can see that the inside is oily.
Some glues are such that they dry if they are kept in contact with air 4 a long time.

Sticking of glue to any surface is basically a chemical reaction between glue and the surfaces. As tube what you are talking about is made of Glass, which is a non soluble to most of the corrosive solvents/ substances, and hence as the glue doesn't react with the glass it is not sticking. It gets hardened if kept in any of the glass container for the longer time, without sticking to the glass surface.

Glue when it is liquid isnt sticky. When it dries it becomes sticky. So the reason it doesnt stick to the container is that it isnt dry. Open the cap and leave it off and it will stick to the container

it takes oxygen(air) to cause the glue to dry and stick to surfaces. as long as the glue is in a air tight tube or container it will not stick to it. but if the tube/container gets a hole or the top is not correctly put on where air can get inside, then it will harden .

The walls of the tube containing glue is coated with Teflon like substance. These resist stickying. Secondly air also play its role by helping it to get hard... rite

Glue is NOT packaged in porous containers of wood or paper.
So, air doesn't dry the glue while it is inside the glue container and make it sticky.

hmm.. based on my experience using glues :) .. i think it's because of its materials and its purposes. for papers glue, it will not stick on the tube or container. this glue only works if it it used to sticks papers. but, the tube... no.
in other way, if "power Glue' (usually for hard materials such as, ceramics, glass, plastics, stainless, etc ), glues will stick on the tubes directly if you don't spend all its contains after you use it.

Because the glue only dries/hardens when it is exposed to air.
If you leave the cover off the container, odds are, it will stick in there.

maybe the inner layer of the tube is made up of a different non-sticky material and hence the glue dosent stick to it......just to guess!!
