I can't recall what I brought to my dorm room. It has been too many years ago. When my now nine-year-old daughter gets there she will probably bring her pink baby blanket( if it hasn't turned to dust by then) and one stuffed animal from her childhood(probably Bunny Bun Bun, the one- eyed- lop eared- stuffing come out -it rabbit) Something comforting from home would be a good choice to remind you that even though you are a mature college woman of the world, you are still someone's little girl.

Music -- you have to have your own music at college -- I would take nothing less than an iPod.

Computer -- you can live without it -- but it is a lot easier to do your work if you have access to the web.

Pictures from home -- you might get lonely and miss your family and friends.

Pictures - it was SO nice to look up at my wall and see my friends and family's faces. When I saw a room without pictures or posters, it was actually pretty depressing.

So, I would say, at least bring some photos to hang up!

a ridiculously big stuffed STITCH - not only will it be a perfect topic of conversation anytime someone comes into your room, you can use it as a pillow to prop yourself up from the floor or lean against it on your bed when you study!
