I dont understand why americans complain so much about lossing jobs to other countries but will do nothing about it...run for office...march in washington...go protect your own border...technology has made the past few generations too lazy...they dont want to have to get out and defend what they want...why...do they not see that its not going to be handed to them...

Its simple. Being the richest country in the world does not
mean everything. Did you know that 65% of Bill Gates employees
are either Chinese or Indians. Thats because in schools today
AMERICAN kids are not enthusiastic and there for they end up
not getting jobs while students from other countries get it
all. For example my family is from India and my dad is a database administrater when he gets interveiws from companies usually he passes beating citizens. In am an 8th grade honors
student and everytime I go to school I see some bratty American
kids making out with each other on hallways and asking each other for dates. ITS DISGUSTING. This may be of the topic for
your question but Im just getting some points on the root solution
so that American people do get jobs they want. For example
the kids at my school, they only care about going on dates and complaining if there will be a dress code etc etc etc. They
forget why they are at school. This is the reason why. They need
to be more enthusiastic so they can beat foreign competition
like my dad ( not that I want that). As for the kids in my honors
class are the few students who know why we are at school and
most of the kids are like me. Immigrants who have parents that work on software and technology who understand that
we wnat to have a future. But not to worry. More Indians and Chinese seem to be going back to their homes then coming
because both countries are rising super powers and I will probably go back to and let some Americans have their jobs because only now are immigrants understanding that America will not always be heaven and that they should help their countries instead with their determined brilliant minds and this will cause America's down fall. So my point is that its the kids and teens. They are why competition with brillitant kids from
other countries are a hopeless loss/

Americans are the most oppressed workers in the "modern" world. In places like Europe, if the people disagree with something, they can leave work to protest and not always have to worry about consequences. They still have medical available to them if they're not working and the governments will help subsidize them.

In the U.S. the people being effected by outsourcing are people living at or near poverty. They can't risk losing what jobs they DO have, to go protest and "fight the good fight". If people walk out of jobs to try to make a difference, most lose their health insurance as well as pay checks and American's can't afford to be without either.

To answer your question, the government has created a "rut" for the low to middle class. People take what they can get so they and their families can survive. If they try to make a stand, they will lose their livelyhood and not have access to decent medical care.

It's a tough decision for these people, that barely have enough to make ends meet. What happens if the family has no money and health insurance while the parent(s) are marching in Washington or protesting? CPS will charge them with neglect and take their children away from them. Providing they don't simply have to face some medical emergency that will bury them in debt for the rest of their lives.

Americans have been dumbed down and put in their "place" by the government. Eventually, though, things are going to go too far and the people are going to have to fight back.

Because they don't have the money nor resources to do it. In a capitalist country, money rules all else, and employees don't have the power to fight the employers just due to sheer socioeconomic power. This is what we used to have unions for, however, many unions now are either a. as corrupt as the corporate owners or b. disbanded by overly powerful owners. There's not a damn thing short of anti-outsourcing legislation that's going to stop corporations from outsourcing. Trust me, I live in the rust belt, and even unions can't do much. Marching on Washington would be a start, but we seriously need a bigger movement than that. And illegal immigration is largely a symptom of outsourcing--we strangle the Mexican economy. It's outsourced American companies who pay less than fruit-picking pays here, so the people come here. If we no longer outsourced, the border problem would practically take care of itself!

Thanks Martin R...You are sooo right, but some of us do get out of bed every day...7 days a week, at 3am for crap pay, and no health insurance. At this rate I will have to work this job till I'm 80+ because I am also not offered any retirement benefits...I live paycheck to paycheck, and still do 3 different side projects for extra money...however, my car was stolen (cost me 300+ dollars on top of what I pay monthly for insurance) I have been diagnosed with cancer ( have no health insurance have to pay out of pocket) and my mortgage went up almost 75 dollars (because of assessment?or some crap like that. ) Okay I'm not gonna even mention the cost of gas to get me to my lovely job...oh wait I just did.

Not all Americans are lazy, we just can afford even that couple days off to travel to Washington and make a point that will NEVER be heard...We (Americans in general) have been b*tching about the same things decade after decade, ANYONE who lives here, comes here and even "rules" here, Knows exactly what we want from a country...no one even has to guess.

Actually, I do not believe that losing jobs to other countries is as big of a deal as one would think. As jobs are lost to other countries this means that innovation must occur in order to create a new product or service that these workers can contribute to. This further expands the variety of products or services that are avaliable to the rest of the world.

Also, there is also a positive side to the outsourcing of certian jobs. Sure, you could have those same products made in the United States, however, this would result in higher costs of inputs to the production of the good and consumers would buy fewer of these items.

Actually they have done something about it. More small businesses have been started in the last 10 years than in any other ten year period in our country's history.
But, you're right too. It seems like a lot of people want it (life) handed to them, they don't want to work other than whatever's the easiest for them).
